UNFIT for SERVICE how often we forget that the God of Heaven, the Creator of the Universe, the Savior of our souls, is a sin-hating God. A God who exercises divine justice and calls upon all to repent and to turn from their evil ways. Yet, many of us have sadly turned a deaf ear from God’s solemn warnings of reproof. We sadly fail to realize the importance of raising our children in the admonition of the Lord. And perhaps even worse, we overlook their sins and allow them to lead out in responsible positions of the church.
Priest Eli was guilty of this, and the blessing and protection of the Lord that God’s people once enjoyed, was taken away. Thus, they were left desolate from the grace, honor, and protection that they were once blessed with. Unless we learn from the mistakes of others in the past, history WILL be repeated in our lives; for God is the SAME yesterday, today, and forever!
