Solemn Events: Blow the Trumpet in Zion! Soon after the end of what we refer to in history as the “Dark Ages,” there began a religious awakening throughout Europe and America. The Lord told us that there would be signs in the sun, moon, and stars along with distress of nations, with perplexity; and the sea and the waves roaring; and that men’s hearts will fail them for fear as they see all these solemn events coming upon the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken! (Luke 21) These signs were foretold by our Lord and Savior to show that the end would then be very near: even at the door! “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.” (Joel 2:1) We must work together to make a loud noise to wake up the sleeping saints.
